DIY amigurumi strawberry
This is a very nice and easy DIY of an amigurumi strawberry since spring is here and with it many delicious berries and fruits to enjoy and share-
For this Amigurumi pattern you will need:
- Red yarn 4 mm
- Green yarn 4 mm
- One pair of plastic safety eyes
- Fiberfill stuffing
- A small piece of black pressed felt
- White embroidery thread
- Yellow embroidery thread
Hook size:
For this pattern I am using a 4 mm hook but you can use a smaller or bigger. The bigger the hook the less tight the stitches and the bigger your amigurumi. If you use the hook I am recommending in this pattern and tour fabric still looks loose (you can see the stuffing) you should use a smaller hook.
Abbreviations:
- Sts: Stitches
- ch: chain
- Sc: single crochet
- sc2tog: single crochet 2 stitches together
- 2sc: two single crochet
BODY: (In red color)
Round 1 - Sc 8 into magic ring (8 sts)
Round 2 - 2sc around and place marker (16 sts)
Round 3 - [2sc in next st, sc in next st] around (24 sts)
Round 4 - [2sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts] around (32 sts)
Round 5 - [2sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts] around (40 sts)
Round 6 - [2sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts] around (48 sts)
Round 7 to 17 - Sc around (48 sts)
Round 18 - [sc 2 tog in next, sc in next 4 sts] around (40 sts)
Round 19- Sc around (40 sts)
Round 20 - [sc 2 tog in next, sc in next 3 sts] around (32 sts)
Round 21 - Sc around (32 sts)
Round 22 - [sc 2 tog in next, sc in next 2 sts] around (24 sts)
Round 23 - Sc around (24 sts)
Round 24 - [sc 2 tog in next, sc in next st] around (16 sts)
Round 25 - [sc 2 tog] around (8 sts)
Fasten off.
REMEMBER TO INSTALL THE EYES BEFORE STARTING THE Sc2tog PART!

Sc in the second chain from hook,
hdc (half double crochet) in next,
dc in next,
2hdc in last,
ch2,
sc in second chain from Hook,
2hdc in last chain,

sc in the last one.
Fasten off with slide stitch and sew to the body.
HOW TO MAKE THE SEEDS AND MOUTH:
With yellow embroidery thread embroider little stars all over your strawberry, leaving the space where the mouth will be placed without any embroidered star.
Cut a small piece of pressed felt emulating a big smile and glue it to the body under the eyes.
Embroider the teeth in the upper part of the mouth with white embroidery thread.

Jennifer Ramirez has born into a culture and family where handicrafts and art were a daily
part of life. Today Jennifer is a Colombian student in the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki. "I now see creativity as an important and vital way of self
exploration and that it has a therapeutic value. I want to encourage
people to be creative and use color. :)", she says.
Jennifer set up TSATT together with John Franzén. With a professional background as a director and editor in the
media-industry John's role in The Sun and the Turtle is to keep the flow
and look of things nice and fresh.
